High Altitude Shingles

June 17, 2013

It was like surgery today. We were jammed up hanging on a ladder hanging on the roof and hanging off a rope in order to get access to the small east and west segments of the upper shed dormer. Since balance was key and there was no way of putting anything down without it running off the roof, I had to pass everything one item at a time back and forth to Dana. Tape, pencil, straight edge, saw, cut, glue and staple – every piece. By the end of the section Dana wanted to work with me for ever. Unfortunately, as she is now unwilling to learn new things and gets a little testy when small potential improvements in technique are pointed out to her, I don’t think I will be able to keep her on past this project. The good news is the upper dormer is now finished.
